So, a quick update, obviously without any spoilers given most sensible people won’t be seeing until later today (no excused beyond that!) Let’s start with saying it’s good. How good is always a little subjective, but I’d say it’s in the ‘Good Range’ with The Force Awakens and Rogue One. I’ll need to watch again at a more sociable hour, and in 2D before I give a final verdict, but at the minute I feel it’s not quite as good as those, but not by much. (more…)
I’ve seen these decals on other people’s Mac’s before, and always thought they looked a bit tacky, but when I saw this one pop up in my Facebook feed, I couldn’t help but click the link.
It cost less than £10 delivered from www.decalontop.com so I was seduced by the Dark Side 😀
It was a bit of a pain to detach from the backing paper and then transfer onto my Macbook, and initially, I wasn’t too impressed as it had a number of trapped air bubbles (even after trying to move them to an edge of a credit card) which made it look a bit naff.
After a few days though they’ve completely gone, and I now think it looks great! Hopefully, it will last the 3 years I plan to keep it for…
The Star Wars Lego Advent Calendar – it’s become a bit of a Christmas tradition! Even though next year I’ll be closer to 50 than 40!!
I think this is my 5th or even 6th calendar, and my daughter is now joining in with her own Lego Friends version.
I thought I’d share this year’s creations, ranging from a very small but scarily accurate Slave 1 (Boba Fett’s ship for those that might not know, but want to learn!) on the 1st, to a downright bizarre (so much so, that I don’t really know what it is) on the 20th.
A nice reminder for me when it’s packed away in the garage with the others, and for you if you happen to stumble upon my ‘blog to self’. If you do, Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2017…
Sorry it’s taken a while to get around to this, and it probably won’t be all that detailed for now, but I’ve been a little busy since the midnight showing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story last Wednesday/Thursday I went to last week.
Staying up until 04:30 am didn’t help the rest of the week either, as I’ve felt sleepy ever since and really need a good nights sleep to catch up, but being away from the weekend visiting friends and family before Christmas was more important than sleep!
If you’re a Star Wars fan you won’t need me to tell you to go and watch this film, and if you’re not, me telling you to go and watch this film probably won’t make you, but you really should go and watch this on a big screen as it really is a very good film.
Whilst we’re on a Star Wars theme, Rogue One is now less than 20 days away.
I’ve managed to get some tickets to see it at 00:05 on Thursday 15th December at the Cineworld IMAX in the Glasgow Science Centre, so will report back after that. Having really enjoyed EPVII I’m looking forward to this pre-EPIV instalment.
Not my most extreme Star Wars experience, which would probably be travelling to New York City in May 1999 to see EP1 as it was released in the US 2 months before the UK. 4 of us landed at JFK around 5pm EST, spent a few hours sightseeing around NYC before watching the film 3 times (00:05, 03:00 and 11:00) before jumping in a cab and heading back to JFK for a flight home! I think it’s the only Star Wars film I haven’t seen in the UK, so you can imagine how disappointed (and tired) I was on the way home!!
