{"id":256,"date":"2016-12-05T19:10:22","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T19:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.apeconsulting.co.uk\/wordpress\/adrian\/?p=256"},"modified":"2016-12-05T19:10:22","modified_gmt":"2016-12-05T19:10:22","slug":"amateur-photographer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/home.apeconsulting.co.uk\/adrian\/amateur-photographer\/","title":{"rendered":"Amateur Photographer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You might have guessed from the last two blog (gallery) posts that I&#8217;m a budding amateur photographer, or at least I like going out to take pictures and have far more camera gear than anyone not making money from it really needs! &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m also quite fortunate that I live in an area of incredible beauty, and for anyone who&#8217;s never visited Scotland, you really should.<\/p>\n<p>Linlithgow&nbsp;Palace is a 5-minute walk for me, so I have lots of pictures taken from walks around the loch. &nbsp;The Forth Bridges are about a 10-minute drive, so again a fairly regular visit to get some fresh air.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I &#8216;shoot Canon&#8217; and have acquired the following over the years:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canon 5D Mk2<\/li>\n<li>Canon EOS M<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF 24-105mm f4 IS L<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS L (just a Mk1)<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF 50mm f1.4&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF Extender 1.4x Mk3<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF-M 18-55mm IS<\/li>\n<li>Canon EF-M 22mm<\/li>\n<li>Canon Speedlite 430EX<\/li>\n<li>Canon Speedlite 90EX<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Supported by various accessories from tripods, filters, remote shutter controllers (most recently an Alpine Labs Pulse from a Kickstarter campaign that I haven&#8217;t really had the chance to play with yet) and batteries galore!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also got a really old Canon 20d with an EF-S 10-18mm IS lens that I sometimes take underwater, although it&#8217;s a bit long in the tooth now and a bit of a pain to dive with. &nbsp;I managed to pick up a cheap housing for my EOS M which I took on my last diving holiday, and got some reasonable pictures (great idea for another gallery!)<\/p>\n<p>So when you see any gallery pictures on my blog, they&#8217;ve been taking using a combination of the above, or possibly even my iPhone which takes remarkably good pictures considering. &nbsp;I suspect by the iPhone 10 I&#8217;ll be wondering why I even need a digital camera \ud83d\ude2e<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You might have guessed from the last two blog (gallery) posts that I&#8217;m a budding amateur photographer, or at least I like going out to take pictures and have far more camera gear than anyone not making money from it really needs! &nbsp; I&#8217;m also quite fortunate that I live in an area of incredible [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":true,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[7],"tags":[21],"class_list":["post-256","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-photographs","tag-spellchecked"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
